高知県西部ではヤクシマダカラを普通に食べています。
本当においしい貝で、春からの貝獲りシーズンにはこいつを狙って獲ることも
あるくらいです。
これまで数え切れないくらいの貝を食べてきましたが、おいしさでは上位です。
なぜかマガキガイ（高知ではチャンバラ貝）と味の共通点がある気がします。
